Welcome to your paddling event!


Sign Up Instructions: 
All participants are required to sign up for the event. When you click “sign up,” you will be prompted to enter personal and emergency contact information as well as agree to our waiver and behavioral standards. All participants are required to sign up for the event.

What to Expect:                                                                                                                       

Arrive at the Outdoor UW front desk 15 minutes before your scheduled time. Wear shoes and clothing that you are comfortable getting wet – a change of clothes is recommended. Additionally, you should bring a hat, sunscreen, and water. Lockers will be available to rent for $1 through the front desk. Our paddling instructors are certified in CPR and First Aid training and have experience and practice performing in-water rescues. All paddles will feature a dry bag containing a first aid kit – there is room for any personal emergency medical supplies such as inhalers, epipens, etc.

Alcohol Policy                                                                                                                         

Union policy prohibits the operation of paddle crafts under the influence of alcohol. If you have consumed any alcohol before your paddle, you will not be permitted to participate. 

Parking information and directions to the Outdoor UW desk in Memorial Union

The Outdoor UW desk is located in the basement of Memorial Union, right on beautiful Lake Mendota! Memorial Union is located at 800 Langdon Street. Langdon Street offers metered street parking, however there are several paid parking garages in the vicinity. The closest lots include the Helen C. White Garage and the State Street Campus Garage.

Cancellation, Reschedule, and Refund Information
The event will be cancelled if inclement weather or poor lake conditions exist. In the event of a weather cancellation, full refunds will be issued. Groups who wish to cancel or postpone will need to reschedule their event 24 hours in advance or risk forfeiting the event deposit.
